Billiaum means deep Sea Country home in Yerkala Mirning language from the Great Australian Bight and coastal Nullarbor. In Creation times, our ancestors were born from Jeedara, the great white ancestral spirit whale, and Yagarrilya, the Seven Sister stars. Jeedara came from the Yirrerie, Milky Way and created our Country of sky, sea and land.
Billiaum Whale Dreaming Ltd works to address and relieve systemic disadvantage, disempowerment and distress being suffered by vulnerable persons in our Billiaum Community by identifying and delivering opportunities to strengthen connection with our Community, Culture, Spirituality and Country.
